This year marks a major milestone for Boardroom Socks: our 15th anniversary! As we reflect on this journey, we want to begin by thanking you—our loyal customers—for your continued support. Your enthusiasm for quality, locally-made socks has made this possible, and we wouldn’t be here without you.
Our story began in 2009, not in a boardroom, but in the James family home. Co-founder Mike James had worn locally-made black merino wool over the calf dress socks ever since he was a teenager. When the last nearby mill producing his go-to socks shut down, Mike couldn’t find a suitable replacement—so he decided to make his own. What started as a personal project quickly sparked interest from friends, family, and colleagues who appreciated the comfort, quality, and timeless style of those first socks.
Encouraged by the response, we formally incorporated in 2010, and Boardroom Socks was born.

Fifteen years later, we’ve shipped hundreds of thousands of pairs of socks around the world but we’ve never lost sight of our roots. We’re still a small, family-owned business and we remain committed to the values we started with: comfort, quality, and American manufacturing. And in a full-circle moment, the very sock that started it all—our black merino wool over-the-calf dress sock—remains our best-selling product today.

Thank you for being part of our story. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just discovered us, we’re honored to have you along for the journey. Here’s to the next 15 years of comfort, quality and timeless style!
